I have been reading Ron Paul's "The Revolution" recently and in the chapter on U.S. Foreign Policy Dr. Paul mentions former CIA Chief Michael Scheuer. Mr. Scheuer has been a very outspoken critic of how the CIA handles counter-terrorism efforts by the U.S. In the video below, from Al Jazeera's Riz Khan Show, he talks further about a non-interventionist policy and how it would reduce terrorism.
There are many more reasons for us to bring the troops home, but this is a very good reason to start.
What are your weekend plans?
We have a fun-packed weekend which includes:
- at least 2 Soccer games
- 1 trivia night
- 1 Japanese Grand Prix race (on TV)
The trivia night should be fun. We did this last year with Dad. Our team consists of the Rea's, the Davis', Dad and his cousin Mariellyn. Doobda is watching ALL the kids, while we answer music trvia questions. Thanks, Doobda!!!!
And last but not least, the Japanese Grand Prix on SpeedTV tonight. Michael Schumacher is poised to come from behind and take the Driver's Championship from Fernando Alonso.
There's plenty of good chili and stuff for the kids to do. And for Mom and Dad, there was a good cover band playing throughout the afternoon.
According to the pix at the right, Spencer is going to have to keep an eye on that cousin Brennan, the popsicle thief.
Everybody had a great time, including Ethan, who had much fun in the inflatable playland.
As the afternoon wound down, many contestants had run out of chili and starting tearing down. The event was scheduled until 7pm, but most were shut down by 5:30.
All in all we had a good time, though.
In this episode of the Aurelio Zen Mysteries, Zen is investigating a suspicious death at the Vatican. A secret society within a secret society may be involved. Over the course of 241 pages Zen gets to the bottom of it with a peculiar twist.
Aurelio Zen is certainly an interesting character with a good deal of baggage. This baggage colors his activities throughout the book.
Overall, I thought it was a good story. But found it difficult to follow in places, although this may be due to the fact that I read it over a couple of weeks. Some of the dialogue was a bit hard to follow.

Do you like surprises?
Who doesn't? What's not to like about surprises? As long as they are not the creepy kind.
If you can't enjoy a good surprise, check your pulse. You must not be living.
